One of the big questions when purchasing a used vehicle is what kind of warranty it will have. Things are typically a little bit clearer with a new car purchase, as the OEM will offer different kinds of warranties on every new model they provide. But those warranties are often expired by the time the vehicle hits a used car lot like ours here at Schrier Automotive, so if you purchase one of those used vehicles does it come with any sort of warranty? Well, at our dealership here in Omaha, Nebraska, you won’t just get a warranty… you’ll get a lifetime warranty!
When you purchase a used car, truck or SUV from us here at Schrier Automotive, your purchase will come with a lifetime powertrain warranty. That means you could be saving a lot of money in the long run on most mechanical issues that arise throughout the life of your vehicle. And we truly mean lifetime – this warranty has no time or mileage limit, it will be good for the life of the vehicle, until you decide to resell or retire it. The only restrictions are that the vehicle needs to have a model year within the past 10 years and it must have less than 100,000 miles on the odometer. That’s before you purchase it, not after. Put as many years and miles on it as you wish after the title is in your hands and the warranty will still be good!
As a powertrain warranty, this will only cover the mechanical underpinnings of your vehicle. That means things like your brakes, your tires, the electrical system, et cetera, won’t be covered by this. But all of the, typically, most expensive parts of your vehicle to repair will be covered. That typically includes your engine, transmission system, transaxle, differentials, transfer case and drive systems. What it really comes down to is what the vehicle’s manufacturer designated as powertrain components in its original powertrain warranty, which means exactly what’s covered by our lifetime warranty can vary from vehicle to vehicle.
Let’s give you a few examples of what could potentially be covered and thus happen with your lifetime warranty.
As you can see, different parts of your powertrain can be quite expensive to replace or repair. But instead of paying these prices on the used vehicle you purchased from some other dealership, you’ll only have to pay the required $100 deductible for each of these services. That’s a pretty good deal for something that simply comes with your purchase.
Hopefully, this has given you plenty of good information about our lifetime warranty here at Schrier Automotive. If you have other questions, they might already be answered in our lifetime warranty FAQ, but either way you can feel free to give us a call here at the sales desk with any inquiries. We look forward to hearing from you and getting you behind the wheel of your next used vehicle.
