What is an auto spa and should I get my car detailed?

Published on Apr 5, 2024 by Schrier Automotive

Here at Schrier Automotive, we offer much more than just your ordinary used vehicles. We offer financing, we’ll buy your old cars from you so you don’t have to deal with the hassle of selling it yourself, we offer incredible lifetime warranties and we even have an auto spa. What’s an auto spa? Well, think about a traditional spa. It’s like that, but for your vehicle. If all you typically do is take your vehicle through your regular old run-of-the-mill car wash, or only get your car washed when you get your oil changed, you should definitely consider getting your car detailed, which is what we do at the Schrier Auto Spa. But, we’ll dive into more details below, so keep reading if we’ve piqued your interest!

What does it mean to get your vehicle detailed?

As we kind of touched on, detailing is just a term for in-depth cleaning of your vehicle. We clean the inside, we clean the outside, and we go into heavy detail on every little nook and cranny – hence the name: detailing! Getting your vehicle detailed does just mean you’re getting a wash to look slightly better as you drive around town, but it’s designed to return your vehicle to its best possible condition to help prolong its life. It’s especially important to get your car detailed if you’re looking to sell it on your own, or even if you simply have trouble areas you want to take care of – such as stains, odors and more.

What does interior detailing entail?

When we detail the inside of your vehicle, whether it’s a sedan, a crossover, a pickup truck or anything else, we’re going to hit everything we can. We start off by shampooing and/or steam cleaning the floors, seats, doors, headliners and floor mats. From there we clean the dashboard, the instrument panel, the vents, the cup holders and the whole center console. If your interior is leather or vinyl instead of cloth, we’ll condition those surfaces. We’ll also make sure to go into deep detail with the vacuum cleaner, sucking up every little crumb or hair in the cabin. And we won’t forget the windows and mirrors, either.

What does exterior detailing entail?

As for the exterior, we kick things off by degreasing all the really dirty areas, such as the engine, wheel wells, rocker panels, door jambs and tires. From there we hit the whole vehicle with a foam cannon and then go into more detail with a hand wash and hand dry. Then we follow that up with a more detailed high pressure air dryer to make sure all every crack is clear of soap and water. The rest of the exterior detailing includes dressing the engine, decontaminating with a clay bar, adding a sealant, conditioning the trim, cleaning and dressing the wheels and, naturally, cleaning all the windows as well. Finally, we also offer headlight restoration, which includes sanding the lenses, applying compound and then polishing.

What else is offered?

We also offer a host of a la carte detailing services, including the following:

  • Removal of pet hair
  • Removal of biohazards
  • Cleaning & sealing convertible tops
  • Heavy paint overspray
  • Detailing of the engine bay
  • Removal of odors
  • Removal of water spots

If you think you might be interested in getting your car detailed, be sure to reach out to us right here at Schrier Automotive. We can’t wait to help you reclaim your vehicle’s former glory by giving it the most detailed cleaning service it has ever received. We look forward to hearing from you!
